What can you see?

Cards

The top section of the dashboard displays cards representing notifications and alerts for specific GitHub events across the repositories that are linked to your space

  • Pull Requests: Monitor open, merged, and pending pull requests to ensure smooth code reviews and merges.
  • Issues: Track the lifecycle of issues, including updates, comments, and status changes.
  • Deployment Reviews: Stay informed on deployment review requests, approvals, and rejections.

You can customize your dashboard by hiding one or more card types if they’re not relevant to your work. This lets you focus on the events that matter most to you and your team.

Workflow run history and analysis

Below the cards, the dashboard displays your workflow run history and detailed analysis for each run. Here you can:

  • Immediate status insights: Get at-a-glance information on all workflow run states, including successful, canceled, and more, ensuring a complete overview of your workflows.
  • Detailed analysis: For complete visibility, click on a specific workflow and stay in the loop with real-time updates for pending runs, including all associated steps and jobs.
  • Failed step highlights: For workflow runs with failed steps, access highlighted error details. This includes error messages, potential causes, and troubleshooting tips, allowing you to quickly identify issues and take action.
  • In-depth insights: For deep understanding and optimization, access additional insights like “What does this workflow involve?” and “Were secrets or environment variables used correctly?”.

What can you do?

Create issue for failed workflow runs

When a workflow run encounters issues, Warestack offers a pop-up dialog that allows you to create an issue with an auto-generated, detailed description. This feature is designed to help you log workflow failures with accuracy and context, streamlining the issue-tracking process. Here’s what the pop-up dialog includes:

  • Proposed title: An auto-generated title based on the workflow’s context and failure details, making it easier to identify and address the problem.
  • Proposed assignees and labels: Recommendations for assignees and labels based on your organization’s past issues, ensuring the issue is categorized and assigned appropriately.
  • Detailed description: A pre-filled description with structured information outlining the problem, possible causes, and suggested next steps. This includes error messages, troubleshooting actions, and relevant insights, allowing your team to address the issue efficiently.

Iterate with the Assistant

In Warestack, both cards and workflow runs serve as starting points or “hooks” for the assistant’s use cases. Each card and workflow run is context-aware, allowing the assistant to provide guidance based on the specific item you’re viewing. This enables streamlined actions such as reviewing code, troubleshooting issues, or managing deployment approvals with prior context, so you don’t need to re-enter information or provide additional details.
